"Cascade Creek" by Doug and Dwight Newman - ('93 take)

"Cascade Creek" is a banjo instrumental that my brother

Dwight and I wrote. It's mostly his tune- I wrote the bridge

part. He wrote it in the early 80's and I wrote the bridge in

the late 80's I think it was. It's named after a creek that

runs through the town of Cascade, Colorado that's up in

the mountains just outside of Colorado Springs. We'd stay

some summers there during our College days back then.

There was a pretty good bluegrass scene around there and

we both took up the banjo a bit. The version here was

recorded at my Dad's place he has now in Colorado

Springs. I've got a couple of takes of "Cascade Creek" at

YouTube that are linked below here, one that also has a

mandolin and guitar part.
